Pastor Jared Cooksey

Pastor Jared Cooksey hails originally from the United Kingdom and was installed at Christ Lutheran Church in November 2021. Before becoming a pastor he was a print and online journalist working in his homeland as well as Gibraltar and Montana. 

It was in the Treasure State in 2014, a few months after the birth of his and his wife, Anna’s son, Ezekiel that he was asked to prayerfully consider the Office of the Holy Ministry. Upon the realization of that call - Jared and his family sold their house, packed up their belongings and moved to Indiana where he would study at Concordia Theological Seminary.

Away from his vocation as pastor, he and his family enjoy traveling and trying out different Indian restaurants (they are obsessed). They also love to visit the countryside and to go for walks on trails and by the lakeside. 

Pastor Jared and Ezekiel, also, especially, enjoy soccer and love watching their favourite team, Manchester United on television while playing the beautiful game together, as well. They even celebrated an unbeaten season together as dad coached and son played in Kindergarten soccer during their vicarage year in Western Iowa. They hope to keep that run going here in Minnesota, too.
